Today sees the launch of Manheim Real Time Marketplace, a new online auction platform that will allow buyers to view and bid on vehicles from Europe’s leading fleet and vehicle management companies. The first vendor to offer vehicles on the platform is Leaseplan, whose global franchise manages around 1.3 million multi-brand vehicles.
The website is the latest project to be delivered by Kingfisher Systems and shares the same underlying technology as the Manheim Brazil website launched in August of this year. Featuring a fully responsive design and multilingual user interface, Real Time Marketplace will be further developed in 2016 providing European vehicle buyers with a multi-platform purchasing solution.
Manheim Australia and New Zealand has become the latest market to launch Simulcast 2, with colleagues in Adelaide the first to hold an auction using the technology on September 22nd.
With trucks, plant and machinery going under the hammer, it was certainly a good test of Simulcast's capabilities and the great news is that of the 206 vehicles offered, 79 received an online bid and 28 were sold to online buyers. Liz Bailey, Head of Online commented: "I want to say how amazing it is that miles really don't matter, what matters is the teamwork - there has been some phenomenal teamwork between IT and Operations colleagues in the UK and Australia, as well as the whole Kingfisher team to ensure that this has been a glitch free launch."
Sydney were next to follow with a successful launch on September 29th. The roll out will continue throughout October with over 30 auction lanes scheduled for installation.
Ian Fisher, MD of Kingfisher Systems commented: "The Adelaide and Sydney launches are the culmination of two years intense planning and development. This roll out is the biggest we have undertaken since the UK launch of Simulcast in 2013. The last 12 months have seen us deploy systems to Thailand, Brazil, Turkey and Australasia providing us with a truly global presence.”
August 4th sees the launch of Manheim Brazil’s new website www.manheim.com.br. Developed by Kingfisher Systems, the website showcases Manheim’s new auction centre in Sao Paulo – Guarulhos. In addition to physical automotive auctions the Sao Paulo centre will offer online sales as well as logistics, inspection and vehicle reconditioning facilities.
The website, developed using the latest technologies and featuring a fully responsive design, is one of a number of new systems being simultaneously rolled out to the Brazilian market, ensuring the team there have the latest solutions at their disposal.
Simulcast 2 made its debut in Turkey last week with a three lane launch sale that saw 548 vehicles go under the hammer.
559 users logged on to check out the new technology and 21% of vehicles offered were sold online, a fantastic result.
Liz Bailey, Head of Online Technology commented: "A massive thank you to the team in Turkey for all their support and hard work in making the launch a success. I would also like to welcome Sam Gallacher to the Simulcast team, this was Sam's first launch and he did a great job in ensuring the day went without a hitch."
The launch was the culmination of six months of development and planning by the Kingfisher team. The focus now moves to Australia and New Zealand where Simulcast 2 is scheduled to go live in late August.

Kingfisher has completed the integration of Dealer Auction’s UK website with NextGear Capital’s funding platform. The new facility allows Dealer Auction buyers to fund vehicles using their NextGear Capital funding plan at the click of a mouse.
With a vendor base of over 600 franchised dealers, Dealer-Auction.com provides stock to selected dealers across the UK 24/7. Stock can be viewed and purchased through desktop, mobile and tablet platforms, something that NextGear Capital’s stock funding facilities can now fully support.
“On-line auctions are gaining momentum in all their formats as dealers seek to buy stock both on-demand to meet the needs of a particular buyer and to enable buyers to widen their sources of stock. With a credit line from NextGear Capital dealers can access dozens of auctions to buy stock. Now, we are absolutely delighted to have been selected by Dealer-Auction.com to partner with them to help their buyers to get the stock they need when they want it,” notes NextGear Capital Managing Director, David Mercer.
Gavin Smith, Managing Director of Dealer-Auction.com, is similarly enthusiastic about the new tie-up; “The unique NextGear Capital Approach provides an entirely new funding line for our buyers. With the stock purchased by the buyers on behalf of NextGear Capital, buyers can increase their stock levels, retail their purchases straight away and we get paid immediately at the drop of the electronic hammer. It is totally in line with our seamless philosophy to get stock to market quickly.”
Ian Fisher, Managing Director of Kingfisher Systems states “Over the last eighteen months we have developed a number of integration points for NextGear Capital, while simultaneously we have built a new website for Dealer Auction. Bringing these two clients together from a systems point of view is the logical next step.”
The new partnership went live today.
In 2009 Wilsons Auctions became one of the first independent auctions in the UK and Ireland to offer online bidding via Kingfisher’s Live Bid product. May 2015 sees Wilsons adopt Live Bid 2, Kingfisher’s next generation solution.
Ian Fisher, MD of Kingfisher Systems, states ‘We are delighted to have completed the Live Bid 2 upgrade for Wilsons. This involved rebuilding large parts of their website and also creating a Single Sign On solution. With Single Sign On a user logs in once to the Wilsons website and gains access to all available products from timed auctions through to Live Bid 2. Users can also create watch lists and place proxy bids on sale items of interest.’
May will also see the launch of Live Bid 2 at NI Car Sales, Hop Auctions and Malcolm Harrison Auctions with more installations planned for the second half of 2015.
In other developments Kingfisher has supplied Auction Manager to Enniskillen Auctions with their first sale due to take place on the 26th of May.
Kingfisher Systems has successfully applied for associate membership of NAMA.
The National Association of Motor Auctions (NAMA) represents auction companies selling cars, commercial vehicles, as well as motorcycles, off road vehicles and motor homes. It was established in 1969 as a society of motor auctions becoming NAMA in 2011. The association represents a broad mix of members from small family businesses to large national corporations. Ian Fisher, MD of Kingfisher commented ‘As a systems supplier to the majority of the NAMA members, Kingfisher will now be ideally placed to understand the current and future requirements of the association’s membership’.

Monday 23rd February marked the launch of Dealer Auction’s new UK website. Dealer Auction is the UK's largest "Trade Only" online auction offering over 5,000 part exchange / trade cars every month. Developed by Kingfisher Systems, the new system is the first implementation of our next generation cloud based auction management platform – a solution that will provide traditional ‘back office’ functionality along with full customer facing website, online bidding and stock locator capabilities. The platform is designed to be robust, modular and scalable to meet the requirements of the smaller independent physical auction through to the demands of a multichannel enterprise remarketing operation.
The inaugural event at the City Auction Group Rockingham venue took place on the 5th of February with over £3,000,000 of corporate vehicles sold at the specialist sale.
MD Michael Tomalin stated 'the centre has the wow factor that's for sure. It's by far the most significant project I have led in my career and to get the result we as a team achieved on day one was incredible. The complete service was something we believe cannot be replicated anywhere else with the level of world class facilities on offer. The buyer attendance was immense with all the major UK buyers supporting the specialist corporate sale event with the leading Northern Irish dealer groups and car supermarkets purchasing in volume also'.
Kingfisher supplied Rockingham with Auction Manager Live Bid 2 and the Vehicle Inspection System. The ‘auction in a box’ software suite was installed and configured remotely reducing costs and the delivery schedule in the process.
