On May 20th Manheim Lisbon held their first auction using Simulcast 2. With 229 users logging on for the sale, compared to the usual average of 145, 38% of vehicles were sold online, with the very first lot through auction being sold to a Simulcast bidder. Simulcast 2 went live at Manheim Porto two weeks later.
Italy was the next country to go live with Turin holding their first CyberAuction using the Simulcast 2 technology on Tuesday 10th June. 141 users logged on with a total of 1,601 bids being received. The Turin sale was quickly followed by an offsite sale, with the Italian mobile van holding their first sale on Thursday 12th June. The auction was held in an Audi dealership in Milan with temperatures reaching 39 degrees. 109 logged on and 219 online bids were received. 67 of the 95 vehicles offered received an online bid and 60% of vehicles were sold online.
July will see the launch of Simulcast 2 in Spain, and there are plans to roll the product out in new regions later in 2014. Watch this space for updates….
