Leading the Way through Technology Always aiming to be a step ahead, Scottish Enterprise Glasgow's PACE Team is currently piloting software which enables electronic management and monitoring of the progress of companies working towards achieving Investor In People (IIP) status. |

The pilot is part of the KWeb project, the wider SE Network business transformation process currently underway and marks the first step towards Scottish Enterprise National making its vast range of services web-capable and available by 2003. Supervising this project with Investors in People clients is David Anderson, HRD Advisor in the PACE team. He comments; "We have 20 companies of varying sizes, who are involved in a wide spread of business activity, currently taking part in this pilot scheme - the one common link between them is their interest in using technology to help take their businesses forward." Each of the selected companies has had specially written software installed in its company's network, which allows stage-by-stage reports to be sent via e-mail to SE Glasgow's office. The feedback to date from those participating has been extremely positive. One of the 'guinea pig' companies involved in this IIP On-Line pilot is Kingfisher Systems (Scotland) Ltd. Julie Wilkes of Kingfisher Systems commented; "We have experienced a number of advantages, not least the increased efficiency in managing the people, processes and paperwork involved in obtaining the IIP Standard. |
![]() The software holds the actions required to meet the Standard. These can then be linked to the relevant Indicators and Evidence Requirements providing a fantastic tool for tracking our progress throughout the IIP process. At the touch of a button we can see which Indicators still require some work, a report can then be run giving information on the outstanding actions, due dates and employees involved. Our organisation of the IIP journey has increased tremendously since implementing the software. The on-line feature allows us to keep our Advisor up-to-date and allows us to receive, via e-mail, valuable feedback. As all of our documentation relating to IIP can be stored within the package, we are one step closer to that paperless office." Kingfisher Systems themselves are no strangers to technology having contributed to Glasgow's flourishing software industry for over 12 years, developing software and feature rich internet solutions for an ever increasing market. |
